biography
Mr. O’Keefe has extensive experience handling intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, and non-compete disputes, as well as anti-trust litigation and complex commercial disputes. Mr. O’Keefe regularly advises companies on how to protect their intellectual property and maximize its value and his experience as the general counsel of a technology company gives him a unique perspective. Mr. O’Keefe has represented some of the world’s largest companies as well as early stage companies.
Prior to joining CRGP, Mr. O’Keefe was the General Counsel of Venali, Inc. a leading provider of electronic messaging services to Fortune 500 companies. At Venali, Mr. O’Keefe oversaw all legal issues for Venali from protection of its intellectual property, to contract negotiations, to corporate governance and was highly involved in raising several rounds of significant funding for the company. Mr. O’Keefe previously practiced law at the law firms of Akerman Senterfitt & Eidson, LLP and Morgan Lewis and Bockius, LLP where he concentrated in the areas of intellectual property, trademark protection and business disputes. Prior to law school, Mr. O’Keefe worked for the investment banking firm Alex Brown & Sons
Mr. O’Keefe has been a guest lecturer at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law on issues regarding patent misuse and anti-trust litigation.
